Deviled Eggs, but with Beef Tallow

Deviled Eggs, but with Beef Tallow

BEEF TALLOW DEVILED EGGS: A TWIST ON A CLASSIC

Deviled eggs have always been one of those recipes that disappear quickly at family gatherings. They're creamy, tangy, easy to make, and endlessly customizable. But recently, I've been experimenting with new ways to cook with beef tallow, and I stumbled upon an unexpected favorite.

I know it might sound a little unconventional, but adding melted beef tallow to the filling creates some of the best deviled eggs I've ever had.

The tallow doesn't overpower the recipe—instead, it adds a subtle richness and savory depth that complements the creamy mayonnaise, tangy apple cider vinegar, and bright basil. It's the kind of ingredient that makes people wonder why your deviled eggs taste so much better, even if they can't quite put their finger on what's different.

At Forward Farms, we're always looking for practical ways to use beef tallow beyond frying and searing. While it's known for producing crispy potatoes and perfectly seared steaks, it's also a fantastic ingredient for everyday recipes like this one. It's another way to make use of a traditional cooking fat that's been enjoyed for generations while embracing our commitment to using more of the animal and reducing unnecessary waste.

Whether you're bringing these to a summer barbecue, holiday gathering, or simply making a protein-packed snack for the week, this recipe is a fun way to experience beef tallow in a whole new light.

  4. 4 | Add the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, chopped pickles, chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and melted Forward Farms Beef Tallow to the yolks.

  5. 5 | Mash the mixture with a fork or blend with an immersion blender until smooth and creamy.
